AboutHuman Core 7

The product

HC7 gives you language for what you already know about yourself but haven't quite found words for.

It works less like an assessment and more like a mirror. It helps you understand what's already true about your life right now.

A dimension that's been depleted for six weeks isn't the same as one depleted for six years. A large gap during a major transition reads differently from a large gap in a stable season.

HC7 is built to be retaken. Your profile is meant to shift over time. Life shifts, and your HC7 experience shifts with it.

The framework

Context changes everything.

HC7 measures two things across each of the seven dimensions of your human core: how much that dimension matters to you (importance), and how you're doing in it right now (current state).

Importance is what matters to you in the season of life you're in. Not what should matter, and not what matters to most people. How much it actually matters to you, in this season, given everything you're holding. There are no right or wrong answers here. It's simply a view into what you value right now.

Current state is a snapshot of your human experience today, a reflection of where you're putting time, energy, and effort. A low current state doesn't mean failure. It means something isn't being resourced the way you need it to be, given the constraints of this season. In a different season, you may score differently.

The gap is the difference between importance and current state. When a dimension matters to you and your current state reflects that, you're aligned. When it matters and your current state doesn't reflect it, there's a gap, and that gap often points to an unmet need worth your attention.

The gap is what separates HC7 from a wellness score, a personality type, or a leadership grade. Those measure you against a standard. HC7 holds only what's real: you, what you care about, and the life you're living right now.

The Framework Overview

The seven dimensions

Seven dimensions

Twenty-six facets of a life.

Physical

Habits
Endurance
Restoration

Prioritizing healthy habits to fuel the energy, vitality, and stamina to be well and keep going.

Physical is both the foundation and the ceiling for every other area of your life. When physical capacity is low, every other dimension works harder. When it's supported, every other dimension has more to draw on.

Emotional

Attunement
Awareness
Expression
Regulation

Having the awareness, understanding, and capacity to manage your own emotions and stay present to the emotional experiences of others.

Emotional looks at how connected you are to the feelings driving your thoughts and behavior day to day. People who can name what's happening inside them tend to move through everything else more clearly, because they aren't spending energy managing feelings they can't quite identify.

Mental

Focus
Thinking
Agility
Reasoning

Maintaining the focus and attention that enable clear thinking, learning, and sound decision making.

Mental capacity is the quality of the thinking you're already doing in everyday life. When Mental is supported, you can hold complexity without flattening it, change your mind when the situation calls for it, and put your attention where it needs to go. When it's depleted, thinking narrows, hardens, or scatters.

Social

Belonging
Relation
Connection
Openness

Having a sense of connection, belonging and trust through relationships with others.

Social looks at the quality of the connections in your life. It measures whether you feel safe to show up authentically, vulnerably, and openly in the relationships you have, at any number.

Spiritual

Pursuit
Acceptance
Impact
Reflection

Experiencing a sense of purpose and meaning that reaches beyond the day to day.

Spiritual looks at where you find your center: what anchors you when things get hard, and where you find peace with what you can't control. For some people that center is faith. For others it's purpose, legacy, art, family, service, or something they haven't yet named.

Financial

Stability
Planning
Freedom
Providing

Planning for and managing your financial situation to meet current and future needs and aspirations.

Financial looks at your relationship with money, stability, and the future. Financial stress can often be about what money represents: safety, options, and the ability to make the choices that matter most to you.

Moral

Dignity
Authenticity
Ethicality

Doing what is right, knowing what you stand for, and having a positive impact on the lives of others.

Moral looks at the coherence between your internal world and how you show up in the world. When the two fall out of alignment, the cost is often felt as a tension between how you're living and how you wish you could.

Your profile across these seven dimensions is unique to you, and to the season you're in. HC7 is designed to grow with you as both change.
